At long last I have acquired a specimen of one of the more elusive plants on my want list, Pteridophyllum racemosum.
Now the question is, how to grow this successfully? Being Japanese in origin, I'm pretty sure it requires protection from our heavy winter rains, but does it need protection from hard freezes as well?
And (assuming it survives to spring), what kind of potting mix would be most appropriate for it?
Any comments about the cultivation of pteridophyllum are welcome, even if it's just to say "I did thus-and-so and killed mine instantly."
