Goodyera
« on: October 23, 2009, 05:39:17 PM »
Hi, Was given this Goodyera five years ago and thought I'd lost it several times when it died back but it has eventually flowered for me. Problem is I can't remember what it was and know nothing about Goodyera at all. It has been outside until two weeks ago in my greenhouse but looked like it was struggling to flower so I brought it inside. Forgot to scale photos so just measured from bark mix as can be seen in the photo to the tip of the flower spike and its 26Cm's tall.

Great plant, David, but I have no idea what species it may be. There wasa gorgeous one shown at an English show ....  might be the same.... it was a Chinese species, I think.... I'll see if I can find the pic.... :-\

Below is Martin R's pic of the plant I remembered seeing in the Loughborough show pix.... it is only given as Goodyera sp. though.... no further ID!

Dave,

That is amazingly cute and furry.  Beautiful plant, and great pics!!  No idea at all of names so can't help with that, but wanted to comment on the plant and pics.  8)
