TATTON PARK, CHESHIRE 17TH OCTOBER 2009
« on: October 18, 2009, 11:36:44 AM »
Took grandson Ollie and my camera to Tatton Park in Cheshire yesterday.  The weather forecasters had predicted glorious autumn sunshine - it proved cloudy, cold and grey for much of the day, but the sun did shine as we approached the Japanese Garden.  If you only have time to look at a few images then please head straight for the ones taken of this beautiful oriental garden, they will appear in the third posting.

Goodness me, Cliff, I know you are a doting Grandad, but do you really think that young Ollie ought to be driving? His feet don't even reach the pedals  !! :o

Now, they are what I call greenhouses  (T36). I could just do with them. He looks a strong and happy little chap Cliff.

Beautiful pictures, Cliff.  I especially like the ones with reflections in water and I love those curly begonia leaves!  I have a weakness for begonias.

Great to see the Japanese Garden again Cliff, we went to the Tatton Show in 2006 and decided that there would be no-one in the gardens so went down to see the Japanese Garden.  We were right and I was totally bowled over by it, a real masterpiece.

Another wonderful place to go round through your camera Cliff, I just love your expeditions...each one is so unique  :)

I have a feeling I once went to Tatton Park or maybe it's just my imagination  :D  The reflection shots are superb with that dark water and the striking tree shapes, the light through the leaves, the deer and your grandson looking so happy to be there, thanks for it all :D

Oh, so there's more there than the flower show! Right, could feel inclined to visit there. The promo material is good anyway. Like the ferns in T5.

Great show, Cliff.

It was just sooo hot the day we went that it was a pleasure to wander round the gardens and have a tour of the house.  The teas were pretty good too ;)

splendid! i'll echo robin and roma on especially liking the views with water..
was the little guy impatient with gramps stopping all the time to take photos of boring old plants? ;)

would this be a garden evolved from a private estate?
