Campanula ID

I was given this Campanula also. Ground hugging folowing gaps in paving. What is it?

Campanula chamissonis which used to be C. pilosa. I still think they're different as my chamissonis (coll. in Japan) has a much bigger flower than even what we used to know as C. p. `Superba' and has much deeper colouring, truly a "superb" plant.

I haven't seen that two-tone blue flower, only solid blues. Makes a nice change.

I do like the two tone... neat foliage, too, reminds me of a little ourisia leaf.
This would be a good addition to our plantings in the driveway... very low and flowering at a good time to bridge the gap between bulbs and the geraniums. DDoes anyone know if it would tolerate being grown over a bit by the geraniums later in the year, or would the competition be too much? I will look out for seed  to try it anyway. Can't hurt to try and seed is the only way to establish anything in the drive, the ground is so compacted!

You know, I've been thinking about this... we've had Camapanula pilosa in various forms, and I accept th chamissonis is its new name... I just don't remember having a two tone blue one. How puzzling

I don't think it minds being somewhat overgrown later in the season Maggi - if you want - I'll be glad to try and collect some seed for you ...

I like it too Mark but be aware it's a bit rampant - you have to keep an eye on it !
