Giles, can you give a little information about your avatar picture please. So far as I can tell from the small image, it appears to be an effigy of Billy the Conk or someone of that period. :)

Lesley,
I explained about it on another thread.
It's the effigy of 'Sir Giles Reed' on his tomb,at St Giles's Church, Bredon (near where I go to college).

I died a while ago, but nobody seemed to notice ...... :-[

I knew that it would have made a difference if you had arranged for a chocolate fountain at the wake, Giles..... but you wouldn't listen......... :'(

I suppose you are now a strong believer in the concept of resurrection Giles. :)

Well good luck for it Giles. My Roger is always somewhat surprised that his own name is never mentioned. ???

I was thinking it might be St Giles as in
"From the hallowed halls of St Giles,
came a scream that could be heard for miles
said the Abbot, "Good Gracious
has Brother Ignatius,

forgotten the Bishop has ....."
 ;D ;D ;D

Had to look at this thread just to see what it was about
I was going to post a couple of photos of similar grave monuments seen in Pere Lachaise cemetery in Paris but I have not scanned them into this laptop. One of a man getting out of a grave.

....I guess it's time to take Dobbin down to the glue factory and trade-up for 2010. She was getting a bit long in the tooth, and the damsels-in-distress
were proving very hard to please in these parts.......

Very fancy car, Giles..... going for the "Knight Rider" look ,are you?

I just can't ( and don't wish) to picture you as David Hasselhoff - he's got so seedy!

Beats waiting for Santa, though!! Merry Christmas!
