Never had as many as I have this year, just squashed eight on one plant in a group of three with none on the other two plants.

We have still to experience the red lily beetle here in happy Aberdeen...thank goodness.... I expect, however, that your vigilance in seeking them out and dealing firmly with them when you do, is one of the best ways of dealing with the damn things. Messy, old-fashioned, maybe, but effective and "green" !

That's squishing the bugs by hand, not you, David!!

There could be worse descriptions: I'd be prepared to own up to that one, too!

You're not suggesting David is cabbage-looking are you Maggi?
Sorry, it's all these late nights watching Americas Cup racing. Only once to bed before 3am in the last 5 days. Another one tonight and then, hopefully, a few days respite before the REAL race gets under way.

I think Ian should get his guitar out and form a new band called the 'Lily Beetles' and sing songs dedicated to those of us who are no longer as green as we are cabbage looking!

My first LP was 'A Hard Days Night', but 'Sgt Pepper' was better. It's wonderful to be here, it's certainly a thrill.
