Last sunday we took a visit to the botanical section of the Wilhelma. It was a dull winter day, but it brightened
up quickly by entering the greenhouses. Here is a sample of the plants we saw:

Some really interesting plants, Rudi. I particularly like the 3rd from the bottom.
Do you know what it is?
Never seen anything like it before.

The rest of the pictures, the sea-horse like creature in the aquarium looked like a cross fish x plant.

Helen, sorry I didn't write the name. I only know, that it is a rather rare tortuose form of a Cereus (Columnar Cactus)
Please give me some time to find the true name.

Lovely photos. I love going to the large greenhouse in a miserable day as you say everthing just brightens up when you are in there. Pity I couldn't build a greenhouse right over my house, I only need a small house
.

Lovely pictures Rudi, thank you for the winter visit. We were at Wilhelma in August (en route to the Neuschwanstein castle). I was really impressed - the tropical waterlily pond in particular is stunning.
