I acquired a small plant of Hypericum corsicum, however I don't find a lot of information about it.
Does anybody grow it and if so, how does it behave and under wich circumstances does it grow best
Thanks for helping out !

LUC,
I can't find anything about this; are you sure about the specific name? I have heard of H. coris but don't know anything about that either!
cheers

Hi Fermi !
I've been googling for it and searching in my (limited) library and all I found was a picture of it on some French site with French endemic plants so it does seem the right name. The picture was only of the flower though so the shrub(let) could have been 15 cm or 3 m high ?? I'll try and post a picture of the little plant I have later on.
I bet you're still having a hell of a time Fermi !
Has Maggi made you taste some cake
?
Lesley will be wanting a full report.
Have fun

Hi, Luc, we've all been puzzling over this... I felt the name was familiar and Ian reckons we have a plant under this name but when I tried to verify it I couldn't find it. When I get time I'll get a pic of it, though it is not in flower yet, to see if it looks like yours!! It is small and bushy type.About 15cms across and ten or twelve high.
Only gave Fermi one piece of cake, personally... on Friday evening at the show set-up, some rather fine moist fruit cake baked by Pam Welsh, a local member, though I cannot say what other cakes he may have sampled on Saturday... there were several to be had!
What an absolute delight it was to meet Fermi and have him visit for the show... he has confirmed my opinion that SRGC Forumists are the nicest people in the world. Charming, intelligent, passionate about plants, witty, caring, knowledgable, friendly, outgoing, cuddly and hungry....what more could one ask, a really nice guy !

I can confirm all that Maggi
Luc, I don't know
Hypericum corsicum
but here are a couple of pics of
Hypericum coris
. They are in the nursery so not very large yet. The first in shade and I pulled one out into the sun. It is, I guess, spring-summer flowering and as I remember from a number of years ago, the flower was the usual bright yellow, about 1cm across, and very pretty.
I don't want a report, I want cake! or even a few miserable crumbs. Still smarting from that bower bird eating my blue coprosma berries

Ooh, er... this is what Ian thinks is our Hypericum corsicum.... the flower, of course, belongs to an Androsace
The plant is about 15cms in height (at most when in seed)
edit by maggi - I now believe this plant may be
Hypericum kotschyanum

Thanks for the trouble Maggi !
The leaves don't look all that similar - although my rooted cutting is obviously very young.
I'll have a go and plant it out allowing it the space of yours and see what happens i

I don't think it is the same plant at all, Luc...though your foliage looks familiar to me!..... but as to which, if any, is really H. corsicus, well, that is still a mystery... I have not found any reference to the name at all!

I should mention Luc that
H. balearicum
will grow to well over a metre but is dreadfully leggy and untidy at that stage, so is better trimmed at about 30cms, to a good, stiff little bushlet. It can be a bit tender in a really hard frost but should stand to about -6 or -8C

Thanks a lot for sorting this one out for me Lesley
Good to know that I will have to keep an eye (and the secateurs) on it !
And ladies - here's proof that H. corsicum does exist :

And this should be a photograph of it - do you recognize yours Maggi ?
