Cultivation of Erythronium grandiflorum

Would like to know if any has has success with growing and flowering Erythronium grandiflorum and what zones more so whats its limit and performance?

Im in zone 8 should I give this one a miss?

No Stephen you shouldn't  

E. grandiflorum ssp pallidum ,(white anthers), flowers regularly here in our woodland garden in a trough.I have posted pics of them flowering somewhere previously on the forum .

I find the clump has not increased the last few years maybe because of the need for fresh mix ,(neglect !).
I am growing quite a number of seedlings on ,but not from this clump as it has never set seed.

I found the pic using the full name Erythronium grandiflorum ssp pallidum.

It is under "Early spring in the Southern Hemisphere " ---July 2007 --page 16.

We have found that E. grandiflorum is not keen to multiply vegetatively, best from seed.
