Primula cuneifolia ssp heterodonta shown by John Richards, he also had the best European exhibit
Primula eliator ssp pseudoeliator
Primula bracteats dubernadiana shown by Geoff Rollinson
Fritillaria hakkariensis shown by Derek Pickard...I struggled to do the plant justice in this picture, is the best I can do
Dionysia viscidula shown by P & G Ranson.... was a very close second to the Farrer plant in the voting

Draba dedeana shown by Lionel Clarkson
Narcissus bulbocodium shown by Ann Gibson who won the most points in the Novice section
Saxifraga x concinna shown by Robert Rolfe. I know this has been posted by others but it is a really nice sax, I am leaning heavily on Robert to get a cutting from him....I think he is buckling under the pressure

The seed of R. crithmifolius may be best left to drop around the mother plant, into the rocky topping as shown in your picture George. In nature, the plants are usually in quite large rock, compared to the size of the plant, with silty stuff underneath. The seedlings appear all right.

Hello George: Sorry there seems to be a problem with another pic in the post that the Townsendia was missing from and in the next posts, too. Not sure what is causing this. May be a temporary problem tonight... I hope so!

Right, I really need to get some Dionysias! ;)  Truly incredible.  Of course, the care that goes into those plants must be intense.

Love the diminutive

Fritillaria poluninii....very rarely seen
and wondered is it because it is so hard to grow?

I totally agree and realise more and more how important these structural plants are in a rockery  :)

In answer to your question re Frit poluninii it was shown in the 'rare' class and consequently had notes attached. I did photograph the notes so I attach them to this post. The first line is in shadow but the rest is clear and answers your question. I have but rarely seen it and I think that may just be only once when Henrik Zetterlund paid a visit to our group in the North East many years ago

George thanks so much for posting the note that explains all and is very interesting indeed.  It would be wonderful if this Frit were more widely available as I think it is a little beauty.
