market for rare plants Essen - Germany
« on: April 27, 2010, 10:58:14 AM »
There is a bi-annual market for rare plants inside the Gruga Park of Essen - in 2010 at April 24. + 25. and in autumn at September 11. + 12.
While the Gruga Park itself is worth a visit the ' Pflanzenraritätenmarkt ' is a highlight for plantlovers in the region.
Here are some impressions from my visit - please enjoy!

Gerd

1. Very dark pansies near the entrance of the park
2. Pansies and visitors
3. Statuaries for gardens (approx. 1 m)
4.+5. Specialities flowering and with an interesting effect  ;)
6.-8. Alpines, cyps and echium
9. General view

Some interesting things there Gerd, especially the little pads of chicken liver pate which almost look like succulent plants! Not sure about the statues though. They look too much like what I see in the bathroom each morning, to want them in the garden as well. ??? ??? ???

Well no, but I was really thinking of myself Anthony. I look in a full length mirror each morning, as a sort of penance. :o
