Is Teucrium pyrenaicum an evergreen ?
« on: March 02, 2011, 11:56:40 AM »
I thought all Teucriums or mainly were evergreen. I had one delivered by Edrom nursery. It says evergreen on the label. It has no leaves appearing to be deciduous. Is it just like this because it a young 9cm potted plant.

This also applies to another plant that is meant to be evegreen too. Is it just because that is young also. Its a Scuttelaria alpina. Could it be the extreme weather we have had in Jan/Feb.

Thanks very much.

Nearly all Teucriums are evergreen.... but not all, I think.

Scutellaria alpina is herbaceous  as I think most Scutellarias are.
(Some are annuals)

Someone from edrom nursery got back to me in the end. Apparently the severe cold causes the two different evergreens to loose there leaves. normally they would be evergreen as stated on the label. And of course if they already have a tendency to be semi-evergreen then that would not help either . I emailed them again to say if they did not take in there chosen soil type then would they refund me. So I will see how it goes.

Thanks for you answer Maggie much appreciated.
