Next SRGC Event is the "Late Bulb Day" to be held at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Edinburgh of 3rd September 2011

LATE BULB DAY AT RBGE (Royal Botanic Garden, Edinburgh )
3rd September 10.00 am to 4.00 pm
SHOW SECRETARY: Barry Caudwell,
Abernyte Farm Cottage, Abernyte, Inchture, Perth, PH14 9ST.


VENUE: Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh (RBGE)

Pedestrian entrance is through Inverleith Row at the old reception next to where the flag poles are situated. A map will be supplied with the tickets.

Coffee at 10.00am

Two Presentations one at 10.30am the other at 2 pm

Some of Broadleigh’s bulbs will be on sale.

Tea at 3.30 pm

This is a ticket only event: your ticket includes, lunch and coffee, and a look around the Alpine Nursery area during the lunch break.
At weekends parking is free all day on one side of Inverleith Place (the north side of Garden).
Tickets which include a map & directions, and will be available from Rachael Brown or Kerstin Price at RBGE on 0131 248 2844, at £12 and will also be on sale at shows.
Members are invited to bring along as many pans of dwarf bulbs and flowering alpine plants as possible for display. A single flowering bulb or plant is of interest to other enthusiasts.
Contributions are invited for a 50:50 Bulb sale, which will be held to cover expenses. It is hoped that a number of nurseries will have plants for sale.
Please note that no Ericaceae should be brought along for either the display or
the plant sale.

"Conference" Fee and Payment
The conference fee of £12 includes the registration fee, lectures, buffet lunch and refreshments.

Unfortunately  that Saturday  seems to be the day  with the most other shows throughout  the country - I am involved in the  East Lothian show in  Haddington  and according to the Scottish Gardeners' Forum website that Saturday has shows in Banchory, Barrhead, Biggar, Buckie, Dalgety Bay, Dollar, Pathhead, Penicuik, Kilmacolm, Kirkintilloch, Livingston, Paisley and Polmont as well as the big Dundee three day flower & food festival.
