Also my thanks Karl for posting these wonderful images in memory of Hans !
It must be a devastating loss for his family and friends.  My thoughts go their way.

I am very shocked to read today about the death of Hans, although I was aware of his illness and was told this summer in Austria that it was not going well with him.
But one does always hope that better times will come.
I enjoyed his many pictures here on this Forum very much.
My thoughts go to his family and friends.

Sadly Luit died on 14th October 2016 - happily we can still enjoy his posts to the Forum

thanks, karl, for these images, which would be welcome at any time, but are a very fitting way to remember a plant lover!

Today, the same as most days recently, I chose a few pots with seedlings ready for potting up, to deal with after lunch. Quite at random, one I chose is labelled "Iris attica, Turkey, coll Johannes Hoeller." This is one of several species he sent, and it was for these I had hoped to be able to send Gent. depressa. Alas that it is too late now. I shall treasure these little irises even more now.

Although I knew about Hans' illness and that his chances were not good I was really shocked to hear about his pass away by Karl  :'(
Many thanks for the photos of Hannes. Like most of you we have never met. I wanted to visit him in spring 2008 on my way back from Italy, but unfortunately he had an important date and we didn't find the time to shake hands - now it is too late :-[ :'(
Will take good care of the seedlings I grow from his seeds.

I missed this...
I am growing some beautiful Rannunculus alpestris from seed collected by Hans, and many Cyclamen purpurascens sent by him to me. I will take care of them to live as long as possible and remember me any time of this lovely plantsman.
