Flemish Rock Garden Society

I see that Luc's Flemish Rock Garden Society now have a banner ad (see top of Forum main page and wait for it to come round and then click on it). I used Google translate to be able to read it and Ian Young is described as a "notorious botanist" but also as a "gifted speaker". Well, that's one right anyway ;D

I thought it seemed a fair description, David.... oh! It  said he is a notorious "botanist" .... oh, well, that's quite different..... ;)

Yes, our Friends inthe Flemish Rock Garden Club...  VRV.... have recently added a banner to their forum pages and we have made and arrangement with our friends there to display their banner and, in turn they are displaying our SRGC banner on their Forum.

Thanks, it must be said, to the clever Rita G., for her help  :-* :-*

I thought it was funny that he is also described as a "heavyweight in the rock vegetation"  ;D  ;D  ;D

ahhh one can keep no secrets here...  ;D ;)
Some adjustments in the google translation.

I wrote about Ian he's a "notoir plantenkenner" which is not really a "botanist", but which means he's "very knowledgable with plants"... I think that's a fair thing to say...  8)

As to "heavyweight in rock vegetation"..... haha... my text "zwaargewicht in de rotsplantenwereld" should translate "a heavyweight in the world of rock gardeners"... I don't think I need to add that "heavyweight" is not to be taken literally...  ;D ;D

Anyway, we are surely pleased to have Ian as a speaker !!  8)
