Someone was in a national paper this week commenting that their favourite carol was "Gabriel's Message" and that they particularly liked the phrase "most highly-favoured lady". As any choirboy knows, there is no such wording; its "most highly-flavoured gravy".

Steve, you may not know this, but both Anthony and his son are choristers!! I expect they know this carol!!

No gravy, and only one extra chin - so failed miserably on the counting front! Two butts involved - me the butt of his joke and his receiving a metaphorical kick from me!

I hope the kids weren't singing 'most highly flavoured gravy' when we sang that carol at the Advent service at St Modoc's Episcopal Church, Doune on Sunday. I'll be checking again at our (Dunblane Cathedral) 9 lessons and carols a week on Sunday (6.30 p.m.).
