Hi Every Body,
I have a blog called Artgarden, because of my two main obsessions; art and gardening. I am a professional artist, and a keen garden amateur. Lately I have been posting about my Meconopsis again....and again). My garden is filled up with these beauties, and I always keep my camera close. I actually cannot get enough of the beauties, and winter is the best time to enjoy what was, waiting for the show to be repeated. I also have some posts from a trip to Kappadokia, turkey last fall. I agree it is hard not to love Meconopsis betonicifolia -  but your photos of the Meconopsis betonicifolia alba would surely delight even the person most keen on  the blues!

thanks for responding to my blog! Half the joy is sharing - as with art. Yes, annew, there are long traditions for this combination. Searching for the mystery, the magic, good questions can be done in both fields. Happy to see you like my birds too. They actually lived indoors with us for 10 days, as the parents were dead.

Moseplassen, a Norwegian website for garden enthusiasts, has released a competition called "X-FAKTOR", and the theme is red and orange. It was difficult to choose among tulips, poppies etc, but here is what I ended up with. It was so touching, seeing the Poppy leaning towards the Pansies,  shining together in the rain. My other candidates can be seen on my blog.

Elly, I totally agree with the sentiment of your posts, and congratulate you on attempting to encourage others to greater awareness of the plight of the majority of insects. 
I assume you are aware that the picture you show here is of a Diptera sp. ( true flies ), and not a Hymenoptera sp. ( bees, wasps, ants etc. ). The Diptera are just as important to encourage, just not as loveable to many,

Hi Romn, thanks for answering. I did not go into the different kinds of insects in the post, just welcome them as a big family of fellow creatures   but thanks a lot for your informative reply. I actually think she is a real attractive one. We see less "ordinary" bees here now, but lots of different bumblebees. The only one I cannot like is the vasp. If they just could stick to the flowers....
