Many happy returns, Mr. N.  ... I've got to say that you look wonderful for an octogenarian!!!  Take care, no bunting on your zimmer.

Many thanks Gail, Cliff, Gerry and Michael and many thanks for The Forum electronic card Maggi and Ian.

Cliff if I do do get to be an octogenerian I'm going to have one of those motorised jobs with a Ferrari badge and a personalised number plate!

Lovely day out with friends today, top class lunch out, and as I didn't have to drive a bottle of red all to myself (I've given the 7UP up Michael, too much sugar and it's bad for you!) You'd have loved my desert Maggi-chocolate brownie, topped with chocolate ice cream, and a little jug of hot chocolate sauce, and the plate came with "Happy 70th Birthday" written in chocolate icing. Try to get a pic tomorrow. Then to the cinema, where I wanted to see"Django" but no-one else did so settled for "Les Mis". I have to say that I normally fall asleep in the cinema but managed to stay awake and, with a bit of prompting managed to follow the story. Was a bit surprised to find out that Hugh Jackman wasn't the bloke who played the Duke in Downton Abbey though, and that Sacha Baron Cohen and Helena Bonham Carter had both been in it and I hadn't recognised either of 'em.

Dinner in Dartmouth with the family, both kids coming home to see their old Dad, tomorrow evening, no doubt lots more red and an equally fattening desert.

Beautifully presented pudding- far too pretty to eat, surely?

P.S. No photo of you licking the plate to get the writing off?
