Spring in your pocket

The Swiss app ALPINEFLOWER FINDER is now available in three languages; French has now been added. The 452 unique, large-format pictures of 144 of central Europe’s most beautiful Alpine flowers are refreshingly vernal even without language, but now you can read all the relevant botanical information not only in German and English, but also in French.

This app by web designer and photographer Renata Caviglia from Lucerne does more than merely identify alpine flowers. Lovingly designed down to the smallest detail, and with vibrant pictures of alpine flowers and their surroundings, ALPINEFLOWER FINDER is a miniature work of art. Families are particularly impressed by the fact that the app is both informative as well as extremely easy to use. A must for all hikers, Alpine tourists and nature lovers. And for everyone who can hardly wait for spring to come to the mountains.

Additional information:
Have you ever been amazed by the beautiful flowers of our alps?
They are everywhere, on the way to our most famouse glaciers and mountains. So who are these beauties? The app ‚ ALPINEFLOWER FINDER’ knows them all.
Identifying and finding flowers is easy: The flowers can be filtered by; colour, leaf shape,  flower composition or flowering periode as well as searched by text retrieval – and does so quikly.

Renata Caviglia, a passionated hiker and photographer from Lucerne in Switzerland documented over 4 years - 1’200 hours of passion! - 144 unique alpine flowers. The result, the iPhone App ‚ ALPINEFLOWER FINDER’ with 452 high quality full screen photos, will spirit you away into the magical world of the mountains.

ALPINEFLOWER FINDER allows the user to create their very own list of favourites, adding notes and pictures. The list can also be complemented by adding photos of flowers taken directly during the mountain walks. The iPhone app provides every flower’s most important botanical information, e.g. flower colour, flower composition, leaf shape, size, altitude and location. The flower-catalogue can be sorted alphabetically by either name, family or genus.

Not my doing really, David- I was told about this by a chum, Alan Jones, who rightly thought it might be of interest to members.  8)
