Hi folks

The narcissus is a selection of N. r. watieri.   We got a bulb from the SRGC Bulb exchange at a Discussion weekend many years ago; think it may have come from Sheila Maule or Lynn Bezzant.

The plant is shorter than many watieris, has a completely flat, reflexed corona - ie no cup at all, look at the pictures, and multiplies well, unlike many. When the plant went to the RHS Joint Rock Garden Plant Committee, it was awarded an Award of merit subject to it being given a cultivar name, so we registered it with the Narcissus register as Abaleish, the Berber word for snowflake.

Could almost be Maggi! However, given we had no sudden influx of polis or security I think probably not... and I don't think HRH interests follow his ma-in-law!

That Soldanella mimima is a cracker - we haven't had one look like that for years 

Maggi - that is Francis and Margaret Higgins Soldanella! Now you know why we are delighted they will be at the Discussion Weekend when you will be one of  the three lady judges

I didn't take many pictures at Nairn
Here are a few, some of which may be of plants different from those posted before.

Last year I went for a walk along the lovely beach but this year it was too cold.  Just took a couple of snaps and headed back into the town
