They're coming thick and fast now:-

Lewisia tweedyi 'Rosea'
L. tweedyi grown from seed collected from my own seed grown plant and much darker than it's mother

Three little white Lewisias that look much the same on first sight. These could have done with another week to open fully but I'm going away for a few days and they will possibly past their best when I return. Here are the first two:-

Lewisia nevadensis-grown from seed kindly sent to me by Magnar and sown in September 2007
Lewisia oppositifolia var. 'Richeyi' again from seed

Lewisia longipetala again seed grown.

Here is Lewisia stebbinsii in flower .

Lewisia congdonii is a little more "rangey" than the previous species with flowering stems around 30cm long. It was a windy day outside and they just wouldn't keep still and I couldn't get space in the greenhouse to get the full plant in the frame. Hence the close up of the small flowers only. Pretty little things.

Same family but a different species, Claytonia megarhiza var. nivalis, this one from Graham Nicholls, tiny little flowers that form from a deep pink bud. Having looked at it the picture could have been better.

Thanks David , I think he need the same treatment as Lewisia rediviva ? I keep them both in the greenhouse al year round ...

Well I did say! Both Michael Campbell and Rik Rodich have pointed out to me (gently by PM) that I have confused one, and possibly both of my pictures titled Lewisia longipetala and indeed Michael points out that it may not be longipetala at all. Having looked at "Lewisia" by LeRoy Davidson I'm inclined to agree. I did have some difficulty in sorting out my pictures once I had downloaded them from camera to computer. So champagne and chocolates to Michael and Rik and sticks of liquorice to everyone else.

I will retake pictures of what I have as longipetala later in the week just to make sure.

I'm with you on that one Michael, lacks the symmetry that gives Lewisia flowers their good looks.
