Could it be a tobacco plant?

I think it could be Silene dioica.  I hope it flowers soon so I can decide whether to keep some of the plants or compost the lot.  I'm also waiting for some Calceolaria not uniflora darwinii from last year to flower.  The buds are there so not long now to find out what it is.

In the past, what I received as C. uniflora darwinii turned out to be C. biflora (or similar). 
A flower too many and frustrating sometimes, but also part of the fun of the exchange(s)

The only time I had true Silene californica was from the Archibald list, gorgeous scarlet flowers on several plants. Like many though, most went to the plant heaven in the sky after two years of blooming. Just one lasted a third year and none set any seed.

The calceolaria does appear to be biflora or a close relative.

My main disappointment from the 2011 seed was Gypsophila cerastioides, a nice plant but I have it already, which was listed as G. aretioides. Of course I should have known better than to order it but one lives in hope. There were too many seeds, both from SRGC and AGS. I was forcibly reminded of my disappointment when I saw stunning, rock hard plants in some of the Czech gardens of the true plant. I had it once, the slightly softer (not 'Compacta') form but gave one of my two away to someone who promised a choice "swap" which never eventuated. He lost the gyp as did I after a few years but in one year it bore 100 plus flowers which it doesn't seem to do in the NH. No seed though.

A couple of years ago (2-3?), Anja Hill ordered Androsace strigillosa from SRGC - a copule of seeds grew as that, but the rest are this campanula..... can we have a name for it?

A not particularly  hairy Campanula barbata?

Pity about only two Androsace strigillosa though!

Doesn't usually get much taller than 30cms .

I now think my Silene is armeria.  It is very floriferous and appears to be an annual.
