Soldanella

I did last year at Soldanella montana and Soldanella chrysosticta at "Arktisch Alpiner Garten Chemnitz" bought. The plants were potted and I have
left in the pot in the original substrate.
Unfortunately, I realize that I probably will not succeed in the culture. At first everything went well, but after the feeding they do not want to drive out.
There are still old leaves there, but these are slowly yellow.
The plants are on the north side, quite cool and moist.

Does someone here have experiences with Soldanellas ?

Have you put the plants out yet Catwheazle? Into the open garden I mean? If not, perhaps that would be the best thing to do, into a cool, leafy, gritty soil. They shouldn't need a lot of feeding and the old leaves may well yellow but as they do so, new leaves should come from the centres of the plants. Don't despair just yet. Soldanellas can be tricky but I think they prefer an open garden to a pot. They are related to primulas of course and perhaps like the open spaces. (Though I know there have been some stunning potted specimens at AGS and SRGC shows.)

Thank you! I had previously left the plants in your pot, but this sunk. If the weather permits, but soon - at present, there is always raining and very cold at about 6 ° C :-( - I will follow your advice before planting them.
