Narcissus December Gold ??
« on: December 10, 2007, 05:33:30 PM »
This weekend we saw at several places flowering Narcissus:
It's the cult. Rijnveld's Early Sensation, in U.K.  also known as
Narc. Januari Gold. Should it possibly be renamed?

In garden centres this year I saw both Rijnveld's Early Sensation and January Gold. According to Daff Seek they are different

Daff Seek has info on Rijveld's Early Sensation

and January Gold

Mark, I just wrote what was told to me by Eric Breed.
I have no reason to doubt about his kwowledge.
but I know that changing names in the trade is very usual,
in this case the name Rijnvelds Early Sensation was not a good seller
in the USA and UK.
I give you a.o an other example:
In my younger years a grew a lot of Delphinium Andenken an
August Koeneman, but my customers were always seeking for
Delphinium Wendy, because they needed it for export to the UK.
(mostly they did not even know about the right name!!)
Greetings, Luit
