Primula
« on: June 25, 2013, 12:34:21 PM »
I have this Primrose, which is labelled P.serratifolia, but clearly isn't.
Any guess or confirmation of what nearest it could possibly be?
There is a white form within the pot, which is otherwise exactly similar to the purple flowered form.
I didn"t find anything with determination key, but I just miss a book that could be more useful than the one I presently have now.
The plant is about 30 cm high with flowering stems, and the leaves are 5 to 10cm long, 2 to 4 cm broad, on an approximativaly 5 to maximum 10 cm long petiole

I am sure that if someone sorts it out, I will be saying to myself " of course..."  ::) But right now, not the least idea

oh I just had a last minute guess: Primula alpicola maybe? I have a P.alpicola from another source, but if I remember from last year, the leaf blade is a bit different, but can't compare it now, this plant is only coming out right now, too soon to check this.

I was just about to post, Philippe, when I got the message that you had made a second post  ;D -
I think there is a look of P. alpicola there .
