2013 Site M - A few new ones

July 2nd

I located a new site so of we tramped off to see what we could find. Well, three new ones for me in habitat so please forgive my indulgence (again).

Now a couple of habitat photos that wouldn't really show well on the smaller size.

The Aceras anthropophorum - Man Orchid were in several locations. Full sun and shaded in woodland.
I have included some group shots above in the woodland habitat so here is a colony in full sun.



The Anacamptis pyramidalis - Pyramidal Orchid  were also out in the open. They weren't difficult to find, they were advertising their presence well.



It was little disappointing to find the Himantoglossum hircinum - Lizard orchid and it was still in bud, it's not as if I can pop along to see it again next week.

Very nice, and what do you mean you cannot pop back to the lizard of course you can.   One year I end up doing 3 round trips of 180 miles to see some in flower ;D
