VRV: Flemish Event in Ghent 23/11/2013
« on: September 27, 2013, 01:52:16 PM »
VRV Autumn Lecture November 23, 2013

Our friends in the Flemish Rock \Garden Club ( Vlaamse Rotsplanten Vereniging ) will  soon be coming in from their gardens to enjoy their autumn meeting in Ghent.

This will take place on November 23, 2013 , at the usual address :

Botanic Garden of the University of Ghent, Charles Louis Ledeganckstraat 35 in Auditorium 4 , at 10am .

This year they are celebrating the world of bulbs with three talks from  Melvyn Jope.  8)
We are fortunate to benefit here in the forum from Melvyn's advice and experience.

Melvyn is  perhaps best known for his work with the Cyclamen Society  but he is also very experienced with Galanthus and Crocus.
His first talk will concentrate on his travels in Northern Greece, Epirus, Macedonia and Thrace - such floral rich areas, with so many great crocus.

His second subject will be Galanthus regina-olgae- Melvyn knows these both in nature and cultivation.
Melvyn's third talk will be on Cyclamen -  what a super programme for this great event !

Well, if you can hop west then it should prove to others that it is equally possible to hop east!

Probably good advice about the beer, Melvyn - but no need to worry about the chocolate - it is uniformly delicious but  not overstrong!
