A favourite time of the year for me when Autumn flowering cyclamen and Galanthus are in full flower.

. 'Ruby Baker': As Hagen told Mark, it can be a lot af things that make it greener or not but I always say the same and most people have to laugh about it. What I say ? Talk to them, cherish them and you will see it works 
. 'Blanc de Chine': Does have 4 outers ; probably because it's a young plant which was planted out last year ?

Glad you like Autumn Snow. Fotini is not showing any sign of growth yet, I expect it to be in flower about mid November.
My Ruby Baker just had green lines this year, Blanc de Chine has done well but none had 4outers!

Melvyn, your collection of plants, from whatever genus ( eg. your cyclamen!!) are delightful.

Blanc de Chine and Autumn Snow are particularly appealing to my eye - I seem to have a bias to the  pure whites.

Are those 'red' C. hederifolium in the background of your first picture?

Above soil level in the last few days but not open yet is G. elwesii Barnes.

For some reason r-o has struggled to flower well in previous years  but not this year. Looks like most if not all will flower. Looks like 'Cambridge' will also do well this year. I divided it in to three groups this year.

Yes Ashley they are red Cyclamen hederifolium in the background, I have just posted some pictures on the Cyclamen thread, hope you like them.

AUTUMN SNOW - it is an autumn star.
He is wandering between the white and the poculiforme group.
No problem. Always a beauty.

Autumn-flowering snowdrops are not offered for sale very widely and I am curious to know how a few of us here have managed to accumulate so many.  I believe Melvyn has collected seed from snowdrops growing in their native habitats but how have you done it, Hagen?  How did you find so many unusual and attractive autumn-flowering snowdrops?  They surely don't grow wild or naturalised anywhere near where you live?  Have you grown all yours from seed also?

Imagine a National Collection of early-flowering snowdrops that you could visit in October to December.  That would be something really special.

Alan, you know, I`m a galanthophile for long, long years.
If you want to create news,
you should do not swim always in the same sauce,
you should not use only trodden pathes.
You need a lot of friends, not only in UK.
Then you can get much more seed, you cannot buy in the next shop.
And you need time, time, time.
To wait!!!

Alan, I think Hagen's response is correct, I too have been growing from seed for a long time and have also had some very generous gifts. I do have a little wild collected seed of Galanthus reginae-olgae seed that I could send you to get you started if you are interested?
