Such a lot of green inside is very unusual. At this time of the year.
You should protect the plant very good, if it is in the open garden.

Is that still " monostictus" or already " ssp. elwesii " ?
It is potted and outdoor.

Uwe, great snowdrop again. You are very Lucky  to find all those in your bulbs.
Please keep in mind that when it starts freezing that you move the pots in a cold shed. It would be waste when the pots and bulbs would get totally frozen.
I lost several cultivars in the winter of 2011, and they were planted into the ground, not in pots. All totally black frozen  .
We had no snow and is was freezing - 21 degrees, and the sun was shinning during daytime, with a little wind.

Nobody can give you an answer, Uwe. It can be monostictus, and I think so. But it can be also elewesii var. elwesii.
Normally the monostictus start to bloom. All early elwesii are monostictus, as long as I know.
Your plant has whole green inner segments. I would think it is a big apical mark and not the result of apical and basal mark together.

Many thanks to all. I will protect the plant when it freezes strongly and i plant out in spring.
Still 2  Elwesii  with green come in a few days to flowering.

All early elwesii are monostictus, as long as I know.

Hagen, seems there are always exceptions of a rule, here is actually a nice one in flower, as all Galanthus are very late this year I checked some pictures to know when it flowers in a normal season, it was Beginning of December last year.

Hello Hans,
your garden is a little more in the south, so you should have also the Gee some days/weeks earlier. I also have a few Gees, flowering today in the glasshouse. But all your other very noble galanthus (elwesii) , you showed us in December were "only" Gems, I think.
If you have too much of them....
