I have recently completed the mammoth task of adding descriptions and cultivation information for every Fritillaria species to the Fritillaria Group website at www.fritillaria.org.uk . This information can be found alongside the photos on the image pages. We hope this will now make the website much more useful for anyone trying to find out how to grow a particular fritillary or trying to identify any plants whose identity they are uncertain of. Huge thanks to Bob Wallis for putting together all this information!

Just seen this on Facebook too Maggi - should be a good meeting. These hybrids of Fritillaria imperialis with closely related species are pretty striking plants, especially when seen grown on a field scale by Willem Wietsma! There is a good article in 'The Plantsman' Vol. 11, p. 222, (Dec. 2012) written by Willem Wietsma and Ronald van den Berg.

 Latest news - the seed for the  group exchange is in the post!



 I note that for the first of these frits listed, we have a photo in the Archibald archive - but   Frit. bithynica JJA492.104 is not one we have a photo of in the SRGC Archibald Archive - if anyone cares to submit photos of this, or any other Archibald seed accession plants, they ill be gratefully received.

Spotted in southern Evia. Would this be Fritillaria ehrhartii or Fritillaria obliqua (but not sure if the flower angle is correct)?
