St Andrews Botanic Garden
Post of Garden Director
http://www.st-andrews.ac.uk/~gdk/stabg_new/GardenDirector.html"The Directors of the Trust wish to appoint an experienced leader who will work with
them and the committed garden staff to generate a new model of working that will
enhance the visitor experience at the Botanic Garden (the Garden) while balancing
the needs of maintaining the valuable plant collections.
This is a new post and the Directors expect to bring the right experience and abilities
that will inform their future plan. As well as day to day management, the role of the
Garden Director is crucially about generating new opportunities and connections to
develop the Garden’s capacity and extend its facilities and services in the immediate
and medium term to support a sustainable, effective and dynamic future at the Garden.
During the early stages of employment, the focus of work of the Garden Director will
be on establishing the new team; integrating and motivating staff through the change
process; integrating existing and establishing new support systems; and working with
the Directors to establish a longer term vision anddirection for the Garden."
Readers may remember a post from last year about the threat to this garden :
