If that's the impression given, Mike, that there is no dust , then that is something else to recommend magnolia paint - a dust disguiser 


 Well Alan, some folk collect snowdrops, other have more diverse obsessions!

They took all my picture hooks down and filled up the holes , not sure they will be happy if I go and put them back + loads more

Yup!        - or maybe some just collect everything.   It's known as hoarding - I'm told that medical advice can be sought for it......... but, of course, first you have to admit you've got a problem - and neither of us if prepared to  'fess up on that score!

Decorating whilst you still live there seems a rotten thing to do Emma.

Are the new owners going to do the gardens themselves?

That's standard practice when redecorating; you have to remove obstacles such as picture hooks or the job takes much longer and you fill the holes because it looks better and because you tend to enlarge the hole when you remove the hook.  It's still much quicker than trying to paint around the hooks.

On the weekend we had the neighbors over for dinner and decided later that evening we must do that more often.  That is so the house gets cleaned periodically.  The parsnips planted in the main hall last year did not do so well.

 I do believe that parsnips need a lot of light........
We had Cliff and Sue for a brief stay  last week- so if the place IS cleaner than usual that's the reason -  mind you, I've spent most o f the time since they left looking for the junk I tidied away which now turns out to be full of useful stuff!   Cannot find the vaccination certs and adoption papers of the two newest Westies - I always say  nothing good ever comes from cleaning up!

Doesn't go on the market till April , they are saying it might take three years to sell . Maybe I just woke up depressed this morning .

The soil is still water logged , the meadows are under water still and won't be able to sort out the damaged trees till the water goes away
