Hello Maggie
There are many forms of double flowers of perennials. Beautiful form of Ranunculus alpestris Anne Marie, Ranunculus montanus flora plena. are beautiful Campanula cv. Torpedo or double Campanula pusilla and its hybrids.
Now double Echinacea bloom. Sending image Echinacea Summer Salsa. Surprisingly beautiful are double forms of common plants such as Tunica Saxifraga fl.plena. In late summer bloom double Anemone japonica varieties. Even you can find double Gentiana, even Eugens Allebaster.
The double forms of perennials can write several volumes of books.
Yours sincerely

Looking around the gardens near here in Aberdeen - it seems to be a good year for the blue Hydrangeas - some are showing the most vivid colour they have had for years.

Hello Maggie,
The color blue in hydrangea is in large part dependent on the acidity of the soil pH. Blue Hydrangea will be pink in alkaline soil.
I have a beautiful Hydrangea flora plena with blue flowers. It blooms only in August.
Thank you for the post.
