Do you have Lily beetle (Lilioceris lilii) in your garden, Kot?

Even though many garden pests do damage - I think we must learn to live with them - too many pesticides or insecticides are harmful to all creatures, including us!

I don't know if Kot does have lily beetle in his garden (it's quite far from me), but I certainly do have in mine. Now is the time for second generation and I've seen it already.

My method is close everyday inspection and hand killing of all beetles and larvae. This is successful because my garden is small. This spring I was so efficient in killing that I've observed only a few larvae. I do about the same with slugs, but I admit I also use metaldehyde containing stuff - it is very effective when the weather is dry and hot.

Good to hear of your success, Jacek.  We have so many slugs and snails here that hunting them is nearly a full time task.
