Aquilegia ident please
« on: May 24, 2014, 06:13:16 PM »
I wonder if someone could ident this Aquilegia for me, it was grown some years ago from seed obtained from a large seed merchant (possible Colegraves). To give an idea of size, its approx 4 to 5" from the top of the pot to the top of the flower, its a 9cm square pot.
Thanks,
Paul

Whichever Aquilegia seed I sow usually turns out to be A. flabellata in the end. Possibly yours is too ;D

Hello Paul - welcoem to the Forum.
I agree with David - it's an Aquilegia flabellata. Super little rock garden or trough plant.

Thanks David and Maggi for your quick replies. I've just taken some close up photos of the flowers and wanted to get the correct name before posting to my web site so thanks again for your help.

I would be grateful if someone can tell me the species of this aquilegia.  I think I saw it on the form somewhere last year but after searching I can't find it.  Thanks for any help...
It grows in one of my sinks and is no taller there than 6 inches but not sure if it would be a bit bigger in the open garden.
