We've had the pleasure of seeing some lovely photos in the forum of the Millen's garden and plants in the past, so these are "dates for your diary"  I am sure.  :)

This web site has a very comprehensive 'Kent Snowdrops Calendar': http://www.ecoenchantments.co.uk/mysnowdrop_page2015.html
Almost in Scotland.

While many here will be excited to be attending the Shaftesbury Snowdrop Day on 14th February,  it may be good for Irish readers to be reminded that they have their own event on that day, with speaker Naomi Slade, author of a recently published book on snowdrops, at Bellefield House  at Shinrone , Co. Offaly.

"This year the event entitled simply "Snowdrop Day" on 14th February begins with a talk from renowned expert Naomi Slade.  Booking form and details are available to download here or from the Irish Snowdrops Group website www.irishsnowdrops.org

In 2014 Angela hosted the first snowdrop event at Bellefield entitled "A Celebration of Irish Snowdrops".  A website dedicated to this and other snowdrop events was created by Angela in 2014.  It contains lists of suppliers and other web links and will hosts publications by members.  Why not visit www.irishsnowdrops.org and see for yourself?

In the absence of an 'SRGC lapel badge' is anybody else going to the RHS London show on 20th February in London? It would great to say hello, after all those near misses at Myddelton!

Name badges would be an excellent idea. Has SRGC considered this?

Name badges would be an excellent idea. Has SRGC considered this?

The "SRGC" as a club has surely not given such things a single thought !  The possibility that hundreds of members and forumists might like to identify themselves at public events will not have occurred to the Council. It is a sad fact that the "regular" SRGC members' badge is out of stock at the moment, and has been for some time - and there does not seem to be any action to remedy this.

However, I am looking in to the possibility of getting a forum badge in the future.  Meantime, if any forumist wishes to print out a label for themselves I am happy to supply a template for them. It would be up to the forumist to choose whether to add their name to the badge  or simply announce themselves as on the template , as a "friendly forumist".
The template will print out at around business card size - and could be placed in a regular badge holder or printed onto a sticky label, or printed and laminated - the choice is up to the forumists.

How's that for an idea to be going on with?

Hi Maggi, many thanks for my template, I was hoping for a 'cake motif' but...

I will certainly use mine on the day!

Because that  London Show will be the "plant and potato fair" ( or some such title  :-\ ) - and because of the fondness of Scots for "tattie scones" ( or potato cakes)- I felt any  reference to  "cake"  might be confusing - we don't want anyone getting the idea the Forumists are a bunch of Potato-heads, now, do we?  ;D ;D

Attention all Galanthophiles! Great snowdrops at Gargunnock House, near  Stirling - with SRGC connections, of course!

"Five acres of mature gardens, woodland walks, walled garden and 18th century doocot. Snowdrops in February/March, daffodils in April/May. Glorious display of azaleas and rhododendrons in May/June.  Wonderful trees and shrubs, glorious autumn colours. Walled garden now restored with new perennial borders, cut flowers, kitchen garden and newly planted orchard with picnic areas. See the gardeners propagation tunnels and the rhododendron nursery.
Guided tours can be arranged for parties throughout the year, contact the Head Gardener. "
