How pretty are those "tommies"? Love it!

Pity they might be over by the time Andrew gets there - I know how much he is looking forward to the trip and he would enjoy that scene I'm sure.

Maggi, That photo is from 2013, and I thought you would like it.  We will actually be very lucky if snow crocus are in bloom on March 7.  the mid-Atlantic US is experiencing temperatures in the low 20s F at best during the day and single digits to subzero temperatures at night down to I believe -10 F (-23 C) this past Sunday.  And unfortunately, unlike Boston, we had no snow cover to protect the plants until last night.  This will continue through this week when it will start to climb into the 30s during the day/teens at night and then suddenly jump to the high 50s F on February 28.  Who knows what will actually happen and what will be blooming March 7.  It will be a fun day no matter what.

Another photo from Winterthur, Eranthis hyemalis.

Aha! You know me too well   :D
Learning about the amount of snow many areas are experiencing, it's a pity those places can't share a little of their 8 feet of the stuff to cover your plants safely.
You're right - whatever the weather the Winterthur Day will be great

Naughty lady at the Hardy Plant snowdrop event on Sunday used many of my photos in her lecture with not one mention of me or my web site. She photoshoped them to make them look like paintings

And you two.

My regret was not buying the two pots of very curly Galanthus gracilis

OMG Carolyn - those Tommies look incredible!  Mine just do not seed around much  :(

Jennie, Tommies seed all over my garden too, they seem to really like this climate.  Of course Henry Francis du Pont got a hundred year start on me so there are a lot more at  Winterthur along with masses and masses or snowdrops, leucojum, and eranthis.

Have got rather behind with processing photos so here are a few from the HPS Snowdrop day mentioned in earlier posts.

1.  Intensive buying
2.  Speaker Richard Hobbs (pink shirt) talking to Mark Smythe (good to see you looking so well Mark)
3.  More buying
5.  Brian Ellis and Margaret Bumpus discussing the merits of a snowdrop

I think the lady virtually in the centre of David's first picture is Debbie Horsman who was the owner of one of the delightful gardens we visited that afternoon.

I'll echo that and you seem to have put a bit on the round the middle Mark, good to see. Not as pronounced in the pic with Jo though, so maybe it was the jumper ;D
