The queue for Oirlicher Snowdropdays last weekend rivalled that at Myddelton House, but it was very civilised and no-one had to run.  As well as snowdrops, (I bought Starling and Greenfinch), there was a large range of other plants on offer including cyclamen, hepaticas, auriculas and agapanthus.  Also some special hellebores which were hard to resist, so I didn't!  Lots of friendly faces as I struggled with language difficulties. A visit to view the snowdrops in the garden of the late Gunter Waldorf rounded off a perfect morning. Many thanks to everyone who recommended the event to me.

The rest of the weekend was spent sightseeing and eating delicious cakes and pastries.

Playing catch-up after two months without a computer. So here are some photos from Spring Platt, Kent on 7th February.

Now Great Dixter on 21st February. Nothing labelled, just great drifts of snowdrops everywhere. Apparently Christopher Lloyd didn't like labels.

The first photo is the lawn with crocus and the second is of pots in the porch.

Is it just me or would others rather not see exposed lattice pots? When mine were in lattice pots the pots were about a fingers depth under ground

I really applaud Tim Ingram's practice of noting the source of his snowdrops on the label - we should all be so careful and scrupulous.  I heard about yet another snowdrop theft last Sunday when visiting Timothy Clark's garden at Netherhall Manor.

Mark, I would rather not see exposed lattice pots but it can be difficult to avoid.
Almost in Scotland.
