Yes, it's that time again. Come to Loughborough on Saturday 4th October. Even if show plants are not your thing where else are you going to find 14, yes 14, top nurseries under one roof plus a members plant stall, Terracotta pots, Tombola and good food. Hope to see you there.

Martin, your invitation was a tempting one even before you mentioned the number of nurseries 

It's the day of the SRGC DWE show in Grantown on Spey - but we cannot boast so many nurseries  -but the talks at the event are going to be fab!
......and I think the plants for sale will be little ones, not  huge.......

Only 5 days to go and guess what.......... we've recruited a 15th nursery, Buried Treasure will be there giving you even more opportunity to buy choice and rare bulbs And our now famous carrot cake will be on sale as well. How can you resist?

It certainly was not the best 'upgrade' I have ever seen - its slow - it logs you out and the migration has lost all the filters and even when you set them up again they still don't work - I will certainly be moving from them as soon as possible - 3/10 could do a lot better...............

Morning all. My email is up and running again but anyone who sent a message between midnight on Wednesday and early Thursday evening might like to try again as there is a suspicious hole in my inbox!

If you emailed show entries and did not get an acknowledgement from me please resend now or rely on using late entries tomorrow morning. Right now I'm off to buy all those lovely cakes for you to eat.

I'll have you know my baking is highly competitive in our village show!....what's more it's edible

I suppose there will be the usual learned discussion as to whether the apple pies deserve a 'Berry'! or just best in show?

Here we specialise in bread pudding and apple cake! When we open our garden we often get a lot more comments about the cakes than the plants (and fortunately there are usually a few bits left over at the end of the day). I should ask my daughter to decorate a cake with gentians next year if there is a good slot on the showbench...
