Prague spring show
« on: December 29, 2014, 03:02:41 PM »
I have been reading a lot  about the Prague spring show, which looks absolutely fabulous. Does anyone know the dates for 2015 and are there any organised trips/tours ?
Also does the Karel Lang garden have a dedicated website?
Thank you
Lawrence

The only dates I have seen so far for the Rock Garden Club of Prague are for some Clubtrips they plan to make. I'll enquire about the show dates.

Karel Lang does not have a site as such  but this site is under construction, it  seems...   http://www.saxifraga.cz

Hi Lawrence,
We have two spring shows in Prague. The first is focused mainly on saxifrages and the plants are in pots displayed on the show benches. The main show is in May and the plants are displayed in rockeries.

It was the early spring show I was interested in ( Saxifragas), is it fairly central to Prague ?, the other half is not fully converted to alpines, and I must  " wine, dine and pamper" her if I am allowed to go lol.
Would I be allowed to bring plants back on the plane or do they need some form of certification

Lawrence, the shows are in the centre of Prague -  which is a beautiful city and somewhere your lady wife will find delightful for a visit, I'm sure.   There seem to be concerts of all sorts, pop, rock and classical going on all the time and I cannot think that there would be anyone who wouldn't like the place!

The exhibitions are held in Prague, just off Charles Square  ( Karlovo náměstí) in the gardens next to St. John’s church near to the  Faust House .  daily 9.00-18.00 hours.

There are lots of handy websites to help too , like  http://www.myczechrepublic.com/prague/charles-square.html

These forum  threads are ones where the shows are pictured and discussed:

Lawrence - when you go next spring take some photos and put them on here to remind those of us who were so lucky to attend the Conference and see the Show in May 2013! Take an umbrella!
