What plants do you have growing in the bed beside the fence under the rhododendrons after the Erythroniums are over?

Dactylorhiza, Liliums, Nomocharis, some deciduous ferns. It's been a bit dark for some things - hoping for more now light will be better.

Thank you Maggi, I'm always searching for ideas of good plants which come up later after the spring bulbs, in shade. I have ferns which I can move and Nomocharis seedlings still in pots.
Last summer I planted my first Dactylorhiza, and I hope they will survive the winter. Liliums are also a good idea to remember.

You can add Arisaema and Alliums to that list Leena.

Thank you Ian. I have some Arisaemas, but for some reason not hardly any Alliums.

Ian - thanks so much for the review of Yasemin Konuralp's book; this has been on my list of books I would like (which is much too long!) but looks especially good and finely illustrated. I am also encouraged by the pictures of your early spring garden - apart from the snowdrops, which are beginning to really show with us now, quite a bit of the rest of our garden still needs a lot of weeding and pruning and the thought of what's to come in a few months time gives a lot of motivation.

It is a nice book Tim and the many pictures will prove very useful in many ways.
Most of our flower colour is in the bulb house but there are signs that the garden will not be long before in starts to bloom unless we drop into freezing conditions.
Snow is forecast
