The Ultimate Snowdrop Sale, Myddleton House 2015
« on: January 24, 2015, 03:06:41 PM »
Here is a picture of the rock garden at Myddelton House, beautiful weather.  Pictures and video of the sale as soon as we can!  A very enjoyable day enhanced by the superb company ;D  Took a bit of time to load as my file was 200.1 kb so had to be reduced!!

Now isn't that a  perfect picture of a good day in a garden in January?  The sun is out, the snowdrops are growing well, there is depth in the scene from the evergreens and mossy rocks - how lovely!

Excellent video Richard, it is funny spotting the players. 'Castle Green Dragon' had gone by the time the 15th person went through the gap!

As always it was great to catch up with old friends and spend some time in the garden this afternoon with the well travelled crew  ;)

Bought two more nice drops.

Only shame is that the wait and the sales are not in a sunnier spot!

Here are the first five of the 130 I took (no they won't all be here!).  Brian and I also have videos from different angles and will get those up asap.

1.  The queue
2.  The queue
3.  The calm before the storm
4.  Val Bourne talking to tall man
5.  National collection holder rushing to selling position

A lovely part of the garden Maggi, beyond the Alpine meadow.  They are hoping to restore the Rock Garden next, the cost being some £50,000 so all our entrance monies will be heading that way no doubt.  We estimated perhaps 300 buyers so just over £1000 towards it.  It should be completed by 2065 at this rate ::)

Does anyone else think it looks as if Emma was being led astray and being force-marched past others in the queue?

I managed to get a rare shot of David, the man behind the camera.

And this snowdrop in the Garden would not stay still so you only get an impression from the bad photo.  I think it was Grumpy's cousin, "Distraught".

Almost in Scotland.
