"not" Smaragdsplitter is a beautifully lively one - deserving a better name than just a "not"!

It is just the name I gave it to make clear that it is not the real one. According to Matt it differs enough from "Smaragdsplitter" to deserve its own name. I do not grow the latter, so I can not gave my opinion on that.

That´s what I thought. It would be great to learn the name under which it will be distributed! The way the green mark is displayed on the outers is especially pleasing.

I've also got the not smaradgsplitter , flower was looking lovely till I left the dogs alone with it for two seconds ! They snapped it clean off , little tinkers (other words were used at the time but not fit for public forum )

15 days dropped and 15 days of bringing it inside every day for this to happen! 'Moortown Mighty' finally opened wide enough to reveal the inners

I was out visiting in Northamptonshire today and had a very nice time.  Here are two snowdrop displays that particularly caught my eye.

Almost in Scotland.

Jennie,

What a treat to see your snowdrops in this creative and delightful presentation format. You have some rare beauties. Hats off to both you and your friend.

Two in particular caught my eye that I need your help on IDs. First, into the presentation at 1:03 there is a terrific yellow with quite a large mark. Second, at the very end on the final slide there is one that looks to be possibly a gracilis (graecus).

Thanks in advance! Rick

Hi Rick
Sorry for the delay - only just seen your message.  Its a shame I did not think to put the names on the photos before sending them to my friend Bob - it is just time consuming and he wanted them right away as he had some spare time.  The yellow you enquired about is Bill Clark (I have since lost it) and the last one is Yamanlar which has gracilis in it as you mentioned.

I have joined the American Snowdrop group on Facebook and noticed you have a lovely collection too - you must be the envy of your snowdrop friends in USA.  You have reminded me that I need to try and replace Bill Clark as it is a very nice yellow.  I am not having great luck with yellows at all.  Wendy's Gold and Spindlestone Surprise seem to be the only two that last long here.  I split Spindlestone Surprise last year and distributed it around the garden.....now that seems to be diminishing too which I can only imagine is pest related :(

Thanks to everyone for the nice comments on my You Tube video...and yes Tim.....he is a very good friend and a lovely person.  I buy my daylilies (Hemerocallis) from him and he lives in the Blue Ridge Mountains, North Carolina.

Grand day out at the House of Dun today. Empire biscuits a decent size, but a little bland. £2 for the Snowdrop Festival walk, payable by buying a ticket in the car park, from a machine. Quality of tea, excellent, though pot on the small size. Still, £1.85.

Some very packed clumps, and some rather elegant nivalis. Also a clump from the edge of a field nearby.

Ecclesgreig supposedly open for the festival but we couldn't find the right entrance, the old main drive is impassable. No signs anywhere. Anyone had better luck?
