There are many woodlands with interesting populations in East Anglia Alan, and various people have found interesting snowdrops in them, you just need to know where they are.

I'm sure that it true, Brian, and that my previous post did not tell you anything you didn't already know.  But for the benefit of newcomers I don't mind restating my firm belief that if you are looking through a wood full of snowdrops your chances of finding something interesting are vastly improved if those snowdrops are a seeding population.

I don't know of any large populations of 'Scharlockii' anywhere in the UK, which is surprising in a way.  There has certainly been enough time.

The "Scharlockiis" are a very special group of the Gn. Often they have a poculiform striking. Sometimes they show a lot of green.
Here you can see both.
The name for the trial is GREEN POC SHOCK (GREEN POCuliform ScHarlOCKii).

I am being converted to an appreciation of green snowdrops - SHOCKING, I know!   

But seeing Hagen's pictures here and working on the presentation of his article for the next IRG e-magazine - online on Friday  - I find them more attractive

'Green Poc Shock' is an excellent name for a lovely looking snowdrop Hagen.  I do like green snowdrops, I like nivalis scharlockii and I do like the pocs so it ticks all my boxes, and I thought G. 'Charlotte Jean' couldn't be improved on, I'm obviously wrong!
