Don't know the story Alan...

It would be something like:

The Sunday Snowdrop

GREEN POC SHOCK!

The snowdrop world was thrown into turmoil by the announcement of yet another amazing new snowdrop premièred today by German snowdrop expert Hagen Engelmann.  Mr Engelmann, 43, explained "I was so surprised when I first laid eyes on this snowdrop that I exclaimed "Ich bin vergastengeflabbert" (I am flabbergasted).  "I almost fell to the ground in amazement". Had Mr Engelmann fallen on his new discovery he would have destroyed a snowdrop conservatively valued at 10,000€ per bulb ...etc. etc.

Thanks, I am ok, lovely poem.
Our son just loves the beasts on 8 legs and this snowdrop as well,
but got himself in a gypsum cast on one of his, for 3 more weeks...

Another of the same type: Arachnofobia

Oh dear, poor Boy -  luckily the young heal well. I hope he will soon be as good as new - boring for him to have the cast on, though.

So many fabulous snowdrop pictures posted after yesterday, most of which I had never even heard of, oh those greens. :)
I love the clumps of snowdrops in Annew's garden, how they come up among other plants and flowers. I keep going back to look at them.

Lovely photos of your garden Thomas.  I looked at this page in Google Chrome which translated it quite well, the meaning was there anyway.  My favourite bit was this

Quote
I was totally flabbergasted by all means and my wish has become a lot longer than it was anyway. Thus, a variety I will probably never achieve because alone already makes the purse a spanner in the works.

A spanner in the works indeed ;D ;D

I know what you mean, Leena - I love to see garden shots with flowers looking so very much "at home" - like Anne's pix and , for instance, those of John Gennard - however lovely a plant may be in a pot or as a single flower, there is something much more magical about seeing them growing happily in profusion - we usually only see this in the wild but seeing them in someone's garden is especially inspirational for me.

Now for a more ordinary Galanthus given to me by a friend, he did not know it's name.
Any ideas?

Some Galanthus from my garden, flowering in the lawn and the rockgarden.
First photo shows a flower that I found between some 'standard' woronowii - looks a bit strange to me if not ugly  8)

Thomas I think your 'Scharlockii' are 'Viridapice'

The ugly one among the woronowii might be something exciting and if you really do not want it  ;) Does it have leaves like woronowii?
