Can anyone identify this seed head? I can get as far as Geranium or Pelargonium but can anyone offer a more accurate id?

A very"arty" image, Diane - looks like a fine sculpture!
If no-one come up with an answer here, it may be worth contacting ( or Tweeting pic ) to those pelargonium loving folks at
Fibrex nurseries
in Pebworth .... I think they're pretty good on the species as well as cultivars.

OK, it's not a Geranium but why not Pelargonium ? It's also twisted.

Was thinking alpines.
there are only two alpine hardy pelargoniums and plenty of erodiums
but sure why not a pelargonium

There are more hardy Pelargoniums - P. iocastrum is a weed but a stunning one and P. alchemilloides - hardy here in my garden

Nice plant!
How much frost can it take?I see it is in your greenhouse.
Have you tried X Kavushan? Is it really hardier than his parents?

Unheated green house John with windows and vents always open. I haven't been keeping records of cold nights in recent years but this week all the plants came through several nights of -5 and -6c
