South Wales AGS Show
« on: February 13, 2015, 09:02:28 AM »
Surprisingly, after much recent talk in AGS circles about viability of Shows and need for better publicity I haven't seen any mention that on Saturday the 14 February the South Wales AGS Show will be held, from 1000-1600, at Caerleon Community College, Near Newport, NP18 1NF.  I despair.

So it is, but it ought to be plastered all over every garden site on the Interweb thingy.
No mention of it anywhere that I can find other than here and the AGS site.
Weather permitting we shall be going.
It is our local AGS group (West Cheshire and the Wirral) 60th anniversary tonight so it might be a late night for us.

Many Happy Returns to the West Cheshire and the Wirral AGS Group - a diamond jubilee is always worth celebrating - must be going to be a LOT of cake if it'll take till late to eat it all........

It is not the cake, it is the 45 minute drive home again, especially as they keep closing all the roads between here and there.

I would like to have seen the other contenders. There were plenty of superb pots of bulbs which could have won, in our opinion.

Such a range of gorgeous plants at the show. I'd say we're maybe a bit behind you guys up here. Thanks for the taster of flowers yet to come for us.

Maybe so - I'll enjoy seeing other pix - but that is still a perfect pot of typical spring flower joy!

For those of you who like to see more formal shots of the show plants, and I know some do not, I have added my photos from the show to the AGS discussion forum here:
http://www.alpinegardensociety.net/discussion/atshows/South+Wales+Show+/19854/

There were a lot of beautiful spring bulbs - snowdrops, crocuses and narcissus.  I think my favourites were probably the pans of Narcissus cantabricus.

As usual Jon cracking pictures. I know it takes much time to prepare them for posting and it really is much appreciated.
