Remind me, Anne, all the Dryad Gold Group derives from Wendy's Gold crossed with a (the same) nivalis Sandersii?  Which was the male parent or did you do the cross both ways?  I think you have told us this before (therefore I'm not trying to get trade secrets out of you).
Almost in Scotland.

It's no secret, Alan. The cross was 'Wendy's Gold' (seed) x sandersii 'Lutescens' (pollen). Haven't had much luck repeating the cross since, so I was very fortunate that time.

For those who don't remember the previous discussions on the "Dryad Golds"  see these links :

It's one of the group of seedlings from Wendy's Gold x lutescens that I showed last year. As a working name, I'm using 'Dryad Gold series' with a clone number so I can put DG1, DG5 etc on the labels. Saves graphite. ;)

Aha, I remember now - and here's a link to Anne's great post with  a compilation of an array of the seedlings -

Thanks Anne and Maggi.  Interesting to know that there was somehow an element of good fortune in that original cross.  And as we might well not achieve the same good fortune ourselves should we try, we should start saving up for our own share of Anne's.
Almost in Scotland.

Dryad Gold snowdrops are beautiful. :) Too  bad, they are bound to be expensive now, so I'll have to wait a few years. :)

What lovely photos Anne! They have thrown my decision making into turmoil!  ;D

My current favourite is Dryad Gold Sovereign, what a beauty! I have to say that I have changed my mind a couple of times on the last two visits to your site!  ???

I am encouraged that currently our propensity to save is targeted at different varieties!  ;D Having seen you staggering under the weight of multiple bags of acquisitions, I know how formidable you can be  ::)

For Leena, and Yorkshire and Scottish customers, I have decided to offer a 'Do It Yourself' Dryad Gold kit of one' Wendy's Gold' and one 'Lutescens' at a special price in my summer list. You will just need to add luck and 5 or 6 years time to the mixture!  :D

If you've seen dear Brian staggering, Ingrid, I'm sure it was not because the bags were so full of plants - merely that his back was bothering him!   I think he is a martyr to it - I'm sure there were no more than one or two bulbs in each bag............ ::)
