One of the queries I answered from  a member during the Seed Ex. was about the  ex Archibald Crocus in the list - I cannot find it meantime - but I did find photos of  them ....  gimme a minute!

347.421 : CROCUS LAEVIGATUS Greece, Crete, Mt. Vouvala. Ex an A. Edwards coll. (An exquisitely tiny (though not quite so small as an Omalos coll. we grow) white flowered form, sometimes with fine maroon-black feathering outside.)

I think this may have been re-identified later as being C. pumilis.  Photos in the Archibald pages.

347.241 is not listed at all - I believe it is a typo/inversion of the number.

Thanks for that Maggi  :-*

I suspected a typo and will update my catalogue. I have one form of C. pumilis so good to add another.

Thank you very much to the volunteers and donors.

My first eighteen months of trying to grow plants has taught me one hundred and one ways to lose seedlings so to receive all these seeds is great, thank you.

Kind regards
Nick

From the Seed Team: 69th SEED DISTRIBUTION 2015-16

This is now closed and all but a few seed requests needing paperwork have been posted.    Please allow for the postal system to deliver your order – no queries before 15 February.

A HUGE THANK YOU  to all of you who sent in seed; without your contributions there would be no seed to distribute to all our members at home and abroad.

THANK YOU too to:
Ian and Carole Bainbridge of the Seed Reception team and their postman for surviving the first year of receiving your many seed donations and producing the longlist that is the seed catalogue.

Ian Pryde and the Packeting Team, Ian’s last year in this role, for translating the thousands of little envelopes into numbered glassine seed packets.

Neil McNulty, Seed Treasurer, for offering again to be submerged beneath a sea of requests and who  puzzles over the payments and chases the permits.

SW Scotland RGG for providing the team who handle the final distribution, picking all the seed packets for each request, from routine main orders to those fiddly surplus blocks of numbers.

And last but not least the Web Team, promptly handling each enquiry.

Dear all,

Thanks for the amazing work, I have received my two bags of seeds!

I am wondering whether it would be possible to have the seed exchange list in spreadsheet or table format , it is much easier than having to work through the pdf file, and copy names and codes one by one (I keep sort of a database) .... also, it makes it very easy to print out labels.

Regards

Corrado

That is something that is being considered - but since it is possible to extract the file from the pdf  via copy and paste into an text file and then import it to an excel file  ..... it is already possible for those wishing  to do so to achieve that.

SRGC Seedex seed have arrived in the Southern Hemisphere!
My only gripe is that I don't think I saved a copy of my order so I don't know how many first choices I got! It doesn't really matter because they are all desirable seed and I'm so glad to have received them! I even got some of Tatsuo's narcissus seed! ;D
Thanks once again for all the hard work done by all the volunteers who make the system run so smoothly. I personally have to thank Maggi, because each year I've had a problem logging on either because I was elsewhere overseas or because the system was not recognising how my name and my partner's were recorded. ::)
cheers

A copy of your seed request is sent through with confirmation of an online payment on completion of the process.
Of course, those using email addresses like hotmail, which routinely destroy automated mails ( Think how  folk  would howl if the  Postman walking up to their door did that! Customers of those providers should be complaining to them) or using  work email systems which may also exclude automated emails, may not receive them.

I got Paeonia saueri seeds from the seed exchange  :). These were wild collected seeds and it would be interesting to hear where they were collected?

Thanks Maggi and Matt. I thought it would be good to know for example how high the seeds were collected. It will be interesting to grow this new species, I'm so happy I got those seeds.
