They are like grease lightening Maggi, the surplus will be here as well before we know it.

We should be able to complete the main orders tomorrow and make a start on the surplus seed.

I must emphasise the need for patience while you wait for the post to deliver your packet. Last year, in one batch of orders, one recipient in New Zealand received his order long before another in Ireland (and you can almost see Ireland from where we are here!). Please do not enquire about your order until mid February - we have other things to do first.

And yes, Maggi, there are cakes. Lots!
Here's a picture of today's orders leaving, with helpers (from L to R) Carolyn McNab, Carolyn McHale, David McHale, Liz Faulkner.

Crikey- when you see the bags like that it  makes to realise just how  fast you folks are working!  Well done!

Carolyn is correct, of course , there is no point in asking about the whereabouts of seed until after 15th February because  it just slows down the Seed Team from their important work of  getting the seed out to members.

Once the packets are in the post  it is in the laps of the  postal gods to get them to you! I think we all know how inconsistent the various postal services of all our countries can be!

Ours arrived already yesterday and Trish is busy sowing them right now. Thank you so much to everyone involved. Checking the numbers after the seeds arrived I was again astonished at the sheer size of the list and cannot imagine the work entailed.

One of these years I'll get time to read the list and put a request in for us!

Mine arrived in freezing cold Essex this afternoon. I got all but four I asked for - I am very pleased. Thanks to the seed team for all their work. It was also a pleasure donating some of my cyclamen seed this year.

Update - the main orders are all in the post (except a few US orders awaiting permits) and we have made a start on the surplus seeds. The first surplus seed orders are in the post already. We have all been working very hard. I will be glad to see my garden in daylight again when it's all finished!

Three pictures from this week.
Picture One - Threave Garden is looking lovely in the snow as we work.  This is the view from our window and this morning we spotted a red squirrel scampering past.  Picture Two shows seed pickers concentrating hard as they get on with their job.  Picture Three - David, our systems manager, is in charge of the brilliant new label printer, franking machine, and the List Generator for the USA, Australia and New Zealand.
